For those days when you are on a diet, and see a hamburger...
And for those days when you think Tentalus...
Just might be the result if Celia and
Thaladius Bile from Monsters, Inc. had a baby...
Then, my writer friends, you are ready for the ultimate truth. Why something is "cool" depends exclusively on how well it is marketed.
Have a great day!
Monsters Inc is definitely super cool, and I totally want those Sully trainers!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteToo true, Michael. Too true!
:D
Yup. How true your words.
ReplyDeleteHow very right you are. Sometimes I marvel at how victim so many of us fall to clever marketing. It's a bit revolting.
ReplyDeleteMonsters, Inc is one of my favorite cartoons. I hope they never ruin it with a sequel.
ReplyDeleteI think we're coming to the point where the marketing is driving the movie. I think this started with Jurassic Park, where the products were actually featured in the film.
ReplyDeleteThey are also the cutest runners I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely true!
ReplyDeletePass on the pink! High tops - don't see those much anymore.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love Monsters Inc.
ReplyDeleteWell put. How about we do away entirely with commercials, since TV shows are full of product placements anyhow?
ReplyDeleteSure. As my marketing teacher in college said, people can't buy something if they don't know it exists. Unfortunately most of what gets marketing the most is crap.
ReplyDeleteYou've sold me!
ReplyDeleteI do love Monsters, Inc. Fortunately my son was a little boy when that came out and we got to watch it over and over and over...
Yeah, marketing hits us hard everyday....unless you live in a cave.
ReplyDeleteI want Boo trainers! LOVE Monsters Inc.! :)

You're right. Even terribly goods can seem really cool if they're marketed just right.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would love that last pair.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd wear that pair of Mike's if the eye was on the top of the toe area. That would be cool!
Too true! This was fun to read mike.
ReplyDelete.........dhole
Too bad most of us have a very small marketing budget if we have one at all.
ReplyDeleteI had some hightops back in the day that had pink in them. I thought they were awesome. My friends - not so much.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Monsters, Inc in a while. I wonder if the 2yo nephew has ever seen it. Might be time to introduce him.
ReplyDeleteone of my favoritest pixar movies! love it! and those sneaks are fabulous! i'd buy some!
ReplyDeletei'm old enough to say: they're ALL ugly as shit
ReplyDeleteif my kids were still under 10, they may wear em, for a week... then be tired of em!
Such a great movie.
ReplyDeleteOur last movie party in my classroom featured Monsters, Inc. I was shocked how many kids had never seen it. BTW thanks for following my blog.
