Oh my gosh...I just couldn't get past "P" in the A to Z challenge without another post where I gush about the movie I'm most looking forward to this year. The website io9 has a bunch of links and codes that you can go to and unlock David's emotions. You should try it if you're bored.
If you are new to my blog and don't know what this movie is, Prometheus is the prequel to the original Alien that Ridley Scott made almost 40 years ago.
They spent $200 million dollars on it before marketing.
I'm looking forward to it as well! Great to see Scott get back in the genre that was made for him! Other than Kubrick, Scott has his finger on the touchstone. I can't wait!!!
Looking forward to seeing this movie as well. But I refuse to watch it in French. I'd rather wait and watch it on my crummy monitor when ever it comes out over here.
I skipped yesterday's post since I haven't read your book yet and didn't want any spoilers. Yes, I want to see this movie. They should give you a kickback for promo. lol
I don't think I'm as excited as you are, but I am definitely looking forward to Prometheus. I didn't realize the movie was so expensive. The Alien franchise has so many fans, I would expect the film to do big business at the box office.
@Jack: I love every one of Scott's movies. Kubrik is dead
@David: It starts in June here. Only 50 days (I have the countdown at home)
@P.T.: Whatever. You didn't predict I was gonna blog about Prometheus today. But even if you did, the math says you had a 50/50 shot once you make said prediction. So it's not like you are some kind of "prophet".
@Elise: I think it's cool you are bilingual.
@Brinda: Good to see you back.
@Tim: Why not? Tim! It's going to be amazing.
@Alyson: Some authors have that much money. Not us. But some.
I'm going to live-comment my response to the video, which I'm watching as I type this comment.
24 seconds in: It's hard to watch a video and type.
46 seconds in: David is kind of chilling.
1:02: "I think about anything... children playing." I don't like this thing.
1:27: I don't believe that David actually gets sad over those things.
Also: Hey, I've gotten sucked into a web-tie-in, and I'm generally opposed to those.
2:04: I'm starting to wonder if my negative reaction to David is planned by the video, or whether it's just me. I can't help but think David is evil, but I think all machines are evil except for my car, which I think is just clumsy, like a henchman in a Disney movie, and except for my phone, which I think of both as an extension of me and my loyal sidekick.
Me, my phone and my car: We'd make a great team of superheroes, don't you think?
Okay, now I get why Michael Fassbender is getting so much work lately - He's an acting robot! Seriously between waiting for Prometheus, The Avengers, and The Hobbit, I barely sleep at night.
@Michael RE: David's comment. Michael. He wasn't talking about the movie release. He meant his birthday is in July. Because his name is David. It's a joke.
I finished my taxes late last night and wished I wasn't too tired to go visit your blog. This morning when I posted, already a day late, boom! There you were! And there I smiled before I had to run off and catch up on critiques for my new local SCBWI group.
Yeah, I want to see this movie even though I just now heard about it.
Ooh, looks good!
ReplyDeleteYou're a little excited about this movie, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteI hope this movie lives up to all your excitement. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I better start watching the Alien movies first then, eh?

ReplyDeleteActually I'm surprised you waited this long. LOL.
$200 million? Oh, that makes me hurt a little...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great movie! Can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteThis movie is so going to rock!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so epic. I wish they would make this movie four hours long.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of the Uncanny Valley?
$200 million... it's going to fabulous...
ReplyDeleteWow!

It sounds pretty cool. But...how is he emotional when he doesn't feel emotion? The fingerprint was brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThx for sharing. :)
Yep, getting very excited for this movie...your enthusiasm is catching.
ReplyDeleteI knew Prometheus would be your "P"!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of $! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI knew Prometheus would be your P too!

I'm simply green with envy - which is hard for me colourwise. I wish I had a fraction of that money to do some marketing of my own. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to be quite good, but I've already seen one trailer that told far too much of the story. Prometheus embargo fro me from now on.

The Funnily Enough
This is bound to be a wicked movie. This, Avengers, and Spidey for my Summer lineup. :)
ReplyDeleteHow many Prometheus posts is this now? You should put a link to each on your sidebar, so those who are just joining the party can catch up.
ReplyDeleteOoo. I hope it's as good as we want it to be.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I get why Michael Fassbender is getting so much work lately - He's an acting robot! Seriously between waiting for Prometheus, The Avengers, and The Hobbit, I barely sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteDavid is uncanny--and a little disturbing, too.

ReplyDeleteYou really are wrapped up in this movie. XD
I saw the preview for this when I went to HUNGER GAMES, and it looks pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteSaw the preview today in the movie theatre. I never get sick of seeing it.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!!!!!!
I'm still all about Avengers.
ReplyDelete@Briane: You should read Dresden. His sidekick is his car.
