If you ever go to Disney World or Disneyland, you can see a show called "Jedi Training Academy," a Star Wars-based fight show where children in the audience get to participate. YouTuber Erndog714 recorded the scene where youngling Sariah Gallego took the stage. And owned it.
In case you're wondering, you aren't supposed to join sides with Darth Vader. Although, I don't see why not because the bad guys are clearly much cooler than the good guys in Star Wars.
The actors at Disneyland obviously needed a few moments to respond before their improv training kicked in.
And not to deluge you with YouTube videos (I do spend some time there) but here's a video of all the preproduction stuff regarding the making of "The Hobbit" which comes to theaters December 2012 and 2013. So assuming that the end of the world doesn't happen, grab your popcorn.

Yeah, dark side gets to do all the cool stuff like Force lightning and choking people. Jedis just occasionally chop off some bar patron's arm.
ReplyDeleteBTW I totally FF'd you today! See, I'm a man of my word.
ReplyDelete*snort* Oh, that kid joining Darth Vadar is too funny!
ReplyDeleteI <3 that little kid. She's totally awesome and right! They have cookies on the dark side.
ReplyDeletewhat a great blog! you are hilarious!if you could stop by my blog, i would love to see your opinions. :)

Steph: I can't believe you'd go to the Dark Side. I shoulda guessed that about you.
ReplyDeleteRach: Thank you and I'll follow you :)) hee hee.
I never read LOTR as a kid, but I did read The Hobbit. Several times! I remember feeling sad that it would never be made into a movie, because all the fantastic elements were just too fantastic. But now! Digital stuff! Gosh! SO EXCITED FOR THE HOBBIT!
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to add, just wanted to wish you a super duper weekend, Michael!
ReplyDeleteI'm often adding that little quote onto the ends of things. When we all get our driver's licenses, you know, if we don't die first. XD
ReplyDeleteI could never get into LOTR. I tried, I read some of The Hobbit and actually began the series once. It just wasn't working for me. Maybe I'll try again soon.
Brooke, just watch the movies. Seriously...the movies are better than the books. If you watch them there's no need to read the book.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars movies are all great.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about other bad guys, but wasn't Darth Vader a good guy to begin with?
These videos are very interesting.
I was just going to make a dark side joke but it's been done and you went and commented that the LOTR movies are better than the books and I must take umbrage. I love the movies, watch them every year at Christmastime, but if you're a fantasy reader, you can't get away with not reading Tolkien. Every other fantasy story ever written stems from him. (Is that enough hyperbole?)
ReplyDeleteSariah is my new hero!
ReplyDeleteBrent: Tolkien books are overrated. Once the movies came out, I never opened another Tolkien book. Why? The movies have everything. Who cares about all the stuff that was left out. Culling of the shire? Pass...it was stupid. Tom Bombadil? Pass...kinda stupid. People who insist that the movies are not enough and that you must read the books are in my opinion just fanbois. They can present no valid arguments as to why the core LOTR books are even worth reading now when you can absorb all three in six hours now. Gain back some of your life and use your time in other areas.
ReplyDeleteSo funny. I think I'll go and join the dark side too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
It's not so much that the movies aren't enough, it's that the books are way better developed (among the many counter arguments). There's absolutely no character growth in the movies, and many of the changes that they made were utterly pointless - if Faramir's going to have the same reaction to the ring as Boromir, why bother having both brothers? As opposed to in the books...
ReplyDeleteAh well, I'm looking forward to The Hobbit anyway!
Ooh.. I'm so excited for The Hobbit. LOTR is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to either Disney location. Not too many people can say that.
ReplyDeleteIf the world doesn't end, I will definitely consider seeing the movie. Big if.
That kid joining the darkside is so cute! Love it. I'm excited for the Hobbit movie as well.
