Mad Max: Fury Road is the best action movie of the summer and deserves to win the Oscar for Best Picture.

We really should all just take a moment and appreciate Max in this gif. The
world has gone completely crazy, and it's clear he's the only sane one left.
Now that summer is almost over, I think I'm going to make a crazy prediction. Not only was Mad Max: Fury Road the best movie of the summer, but it could very well go on to win Best Picture at the Oscars. Yeah, I'm saying it now. Wouldn't that be insane? It's a little short on plot but what Mad Max movie isn't? And it has great reviews on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes with a 98% fresh rating the last time I checked. That pretty much puts it in "this is a masterpiece" territory with critical reviewers. It took me watching the honest trailer for it to fully gel this opinion (that you should take with a grain of salt), and I think if you give it a moment of your time, you'll agree that in the least Mad Max: Fury Road was the best action movie of the year. Seriously, watch the honest trailer. It's the best three minutes of your life you'll spend today.

  1. Now you're talking!
Doubt it will win Best Picture, but it is the best film of the year by far. So much better than Jurassic World. It's rare I see a movie twice in the theater, but I saw Fury Road twice and it was just as fun and batcrap crazy the second time.

  2. I've never seen a Mad Max movie, but your recommendation is good enough for me.

  3. I have to watch that when it comes out on DVD. I doubt it will even get a Best Picture nomination.

  4. I loved Fury Road so hard. SO HARD. I would have loved it so hard even if I wasn't a die hard Mad Max fan, but I am, which just made me love it even more. It'll be a lovely day when I get it on blue ray and watch it again.

  6. I loved Mad Max though they should have called it Furiousa Road (Theron should be nominated for best actress). There were so many scenes when I had a step back from the action because so much was happening on the screen at once and most of it without special effects. I've seen some people complain the movie has no plot but that is just because they weren't paying attention. The universe was absurd yet somehow kept its humanity. The movie will affect movies for the next decade like the Matrix did in the 90s.

  7. You need to start your very own movie awards. Then you can give it all the best picture accolades you want.

  8. You're right that it is the best movie of the year so far, but the folks who get to vote would never let it win movie of the year. I still like The Road Warrior best of the Mad Max movies, but this new one is certainly number 2.

  9. I'll be seeing this movie, and I'm so glad a strong woman is the lead. But when it comes to best movie awards the Oscars can be way off, so I trust your judgment more. Oh, and I did see Man from UNCLE and loved it and I'm still in love with Illya Kuryakin even though this incarnation is slightly psycho.
