I just saw this clip from the movie, and seriously, anyone thinking of watching this on a non-IMAX screen is not a fan. Two huge monsters and Ken Wattanabe (who has the ability to make anything sound interesting) is just too epic. Have a fine Cinco de Mayo.
Trust me - I already have my IMAX tickets!! Going to be epic.
ReplyDeleteCan hardly wait for this! :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look like it'll be an epic movie (I agree with you on Ken Watanabe), but I'll probably be skipping it. I've never been a big Godzilla fan.
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome if they'd show this on the real IMAX, not the fake kind, but they probably won't near me, just like they didn't with Pacific Rim. But yes giant monsters look better on a big screen.
ReplyDelete@Pat: Explain fake IMAX. I'm not sure what you mean by this statement.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably die from terror if I watched this in a theatre.
ReplyDeleteThe real IMAX is the several-story tall screen they have at select locations, like the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. The "IMAX" in most movie theaters is larger than a normal screen but it's not several stories tall either.
ReplyDeleteHere's an old article to help explain it http://consumerist.com/2009/05/12/does-your-local-cinema-have-imax-or-just-imax-lite/
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! Not my kind of thing, but it does intrigue me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Michael
I wonder what the UK release date is? I'll be in London at the end of May and will be able to see it at an Imax ;)
ReplyDeleteGodzilla!~
ReplyDeleteWhat if i watch it on my laptop but put my face really close to the screen, that'll be the same thing right?

@Moody: No.
ReplyDeleteYep, tentpole movies aren't worth the title unless they need to be seen on a really big screen.
ReplyDeleteIt looks incredible! I never go to the theater but I want to for this.
ReplyDeleteI do plan on going to see this one in I- Max. Really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI have to take your word on it. I can't wait to read your review of it.
ReplyDeleteThey don't have IMAX around me
ReplyDeleteFor some reason my computer won't show me the clip, so I'll watch it at work. But from the trailers I know that this is the kind of movie that has to be seen on the biggest possible screen. It'll be fun! A real summer flick.
ReplyDeleteI've seen trailers for this everywhere, and I think you're right. IMAX is the only way to do it. Go big or go home. :)
ReplyDeletePat is right. A full Imax is amazing. You feel like you're in the movie. Anyway, Godzilla looks scarryyy!
ReplyDeletepoor Godzzie... she's just looking for lurv..... If you'd give her a box of radioactive chocolates she'd turn into a bunny
