Peter Jackson released the first trailer for The Hobbit this week. If you haven't seen it, you should watch it below. In addition you'll see my specially prepared summary that gives you all you need to know of the movie in three simple panels. No need to thank me. You're welcome. And you get fifty extra nerd points if you know who Daenerys is and why that's significant in the caption I wrote on the first panel. *snicker. I'm so funny.
Your moment of Legolas with eyeliner. He's so pretty. |
Death of Smaug. Hey it's a kid's book. A
kid should be the hero.
The End.
Saw it yesterday and I think Jamie posted it as well. The kicker is the ending!
ReplyDeleteAnd that kid video is disturbing.
Hi Michael .. well that's a straight forward story! The kid video is pretty amazing or disturbing ..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video - I wonder when it comes out here .. I'll now be checking it out ..
Cheers Hilary
I'm excited to get my nerd points as I loved the first panel. Last panel totally wins though, so cute.
ReplyDeleteAfter all three of these come out it'd be nice if they released an Unextended version that just uses stuff from the actual Hobbit book and not all the proprietary stuff they threw in to make it a trilogy because Peter Jackson and New Line are both failing and need money.
ReplyDeleteThat kid's got the ninja moves. Ha!
ReplyDelete50 nerd point for me! I'm SO excited for The Desolation of Smaug! Seriously. It looks amazing. And I could stare at that picture of Legolas all day ... :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Legolas IS so pretty! :D
ReplyDeleteDo I know who Daenerys is? Does my dog think the cat box is his own personal treat box? Yeah. Sadly he does.
ReplyDeleteI first read The Hobbit in a Children's Lit class at UCLA back in the 70s. I found it to be a cute book for Y/A and can't imagine how or why anyone would want to puff it into a trilogy. Probably just for the money. I doubt I'll go see this.
ReplyDeleteAfter the first one, I have no excitement for this movie. I'll go see it, but I have no excitement.
ReplyDeleteThe stuff with the barrels looks ludicrous.
i imagine there'll be lots of action set pieces but I don't really feel any emotional depth to it. Not sure I care enough. Not really sure I know what I'm supposed to care about. The more stuff they add the more watered down it gets.
ReplyDeletemood
Yes, what Morgan said! :D
ReplyDeleteBowing to the dragonqueen, although, my allegiance lays with my Elven king Thranduil (I pronounce his name with a sexy whisper, you know) :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in utter trailer frenzy this week, first HOBBIT and today 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE which left me mesmerized and awestruck :)
We really need to consolidate these nerd/geek points. I'm sure someone is winning this game. I'm also sure it's not me.
ReplyDeleteLove the ninja baby. But happily I'm not as much of a nerd as I thought 'cause I have no idea who Daenery is. I might see this Hobbit film, although I didn't see the last one. I'm more of a Star Trek/Grimm nerd than anything.
ReplyDeleteThe kid seemed quiet prepared!!
ReplyDeleteDaenerys = Game of Thrones and three dragons.
ReplyDeleteNerd points for me!!
I LOVED THIS TRAILER SO MUCH.
I got nerd points! I laughed at the first panel. I love this trailer and can't wait to see the movie.
ReplyDeleteThat kung-fu kid video is great. I remember seeing that a while back and loved it. Looking forward to Smaug. My brother and I are planning a GoTs3 marathon (courtesy DVR) later this month. Gotta get me my Daenerys fix.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I caught the supercell video on your previous post. (I'm trying to catch up.) Impressive.
Impressive Kung-Fu kid! And the visual effects for the next Hobbit are stunning.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it's saying your Vimeo video at the end of the post doesn't exist any more... (I'm your tech notifier at the moment). ;-)
I just love your pithy summation. ;)
ReplyDeleteHee hee, can't wait!
