The only MJ song I like is "Will You Be There?" I was never a fan of Thriller, although I did suggest to Sweetie that we learn the dance as a fun/romantic activity to do together.
I commented to Slate today that Steve Jobs enjoyed the shortest post-death honeymoon ever. Michael Jackson I think is having the longest.
The moonwalking vid is great. I take Zumba exercise class and my sis is the instructor. She has choreographed an entire Zumba routine to Thriller. I love it. BTW- the last pic is mighty gross.
Have you ever seen the Thriller extra they did with the characters of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? Didn't know if I should laugh or get creeped out.
I so got caught up in the hype before the video aired. It was probably the most excited I was about anything that year. I must have watched that video a hundred times. Awesome.
The gym teacher at the local elementary school teaches the kids the Thriller dance every year for Halloween. I think that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteI still get scared while watching Thriller :D
ReplyDeleteThriller is the only song of his I actually like and only because of Vincent Price.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day. Finally Foster the People will get booted from my brain!!
ReplyDeleteLove me some MJ.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's odd you show that Nightmare Before Christmas holiday lights display video, because that was the meme of the day yesterday here at work.
Oh. Never mind. It's actually a different song. That same house does one for the song from the Tim Burton movie too.
ReplyDeleteHe created some remarkable music ... but, a very very strange individual!
ReplyDeleteEven though I was young and not interested in music, I can still remember that video debuting.
ReplyDeleteoh man, now i totally want to listen to some MJ. Especially Billie Jean for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI love that final image. It made me smile.
ReplyDeleteMy siblings and I used to dance to that song all the time when we were kids. And still sometimes today.

my younger daughter used to hide behind the couch when the video was on... she'd peek out, then duck down again! lol
ReplyDeleteI remember when "Thriller" first hit the music scene... I couldn't get enough of it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThriller really is one of the greatest songs of all time. I was obsesses with that video when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I did the moon walk in a show back in the 80's. LOL. I was so proud that I could do it. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Isn't that the coolest house ever? And, of course, the song too! Totally fabulous!

ReplyDeleteMy bff still says to this day..."Michael Jackson's Thiller album is the greatest album of all time." Excellent post as always! :)
ReplyDeleteThe house was really cool! Wonder if it's the same guy who did TSO's Wizards in Winter?
ReplyDeleteWow, those people really do it up.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Thriller came out. It was like ... wow. There'd been nothing else like it.
I was just looking at the same house in another Halloween video. LOL. They really go all out with those lights.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the Thriller extra they did with the characters of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? Didn't know if I should laugh or get creeped out.
ReplyDeleteI love watching light shows. :)
We will always love Michael Jackson. I don't think there will be an other song like this or an other singer like him. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteHis music and dancing were amazing.

ReplyDeleteI think Billy Jean was better but I wasn't a big fan of MJ's after he grew up. He was so cute when he was little!!!
ReplyDeleteThriller is still a great video today. My kids are into new music, but even they like Thriller. Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteAh, you take me back. I loved Thriller!
ReplyDeleteThat house was insanely awesome. Loved this--made my day!
ReplyDeleteThriller is such an amazing video clip and song... such a loss...
ReplyDeleteI love that Halloween decoration! Bet it gets old for the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI remember staying up until midnight for the MTV premiere of Thriller. I mean, I wasn't even born yet. I don't know what you're talking about.
Always one of my favorites! I wish I had those decorations on my house. Wow!
ReplyDeleteFortunately he made his mark in this world. Now it's your turn!
ReplyDeleteHow much do I love that last illustration?
ReplyDeleteAnswer: SO SO SO SO FREAKING MUCH.
