This over the top Halloween display makes me thankful that I don't live in a community that would tolerate this.

I think I'm thankful that I don't live in a community that would tolerate this mess of a light show. Sure, it's a fun video, but can you imagine this going for hours every single night until Halloween? Ugh. Why do people get so wrapped up in Halloween anyway? I blame Peter-Pan syndrome

  1. While it would be cool to see, I agree - be a bummer if that was your neighbor. And since I am not a Rocky Horror Picture Show fan, it would be twice as annoying.
Halloween was fun when I was younger, but it's no big deal now. We don't celebrate.

  2. That would be annoying. Then November 1 they probably put up the Xmas lights.

  3. Yeah, I don't think those two things are related.

    2. To me, Halloween was always a kids holiday. But with delayed adolescents and parents who want to be best friends with their children instead of parenting, we've now got an entire generation of people who never want to grow up and who adopt children's holidays because they're children in old people's bodies. So yeah, I blame Peter-Pan syndrome for these over-the-top cries for attention (that's all this is).

  4. I wouldn't mind this for a week or two, but no longer.

  5. This reminds me of going to see a block where everyone went crazy with Christmas lights. We had a similar discussion while perusing the displays. I believe the fall of western civilization got touched upon.

  6. I wouldn't mind doing this for a quick party. But to have it going on and on? No way, definitely annoying. Go live by yourself on a hilltop and do that crap.

  7. Every night for a month might be a bit much, but it wouldn't bother me if it were in my neighborhood. Gotta cut people slack for some holiday cheer. No worse than all the Christmas carrols throughout December.

  8. Aw, c'mon Mike! I love Halloween! But that said, a display like this would drive me nuts if I lived across the street. I like the traditional old decor of pumpkins and hokey ghosts and stuff made by kids, and the crunching of leaves on the sidewalk and the autumn darkness. Still you're right about it being a kids' holiday, and I love just going out and seeing all the kids trick-or-treating.
