A Peek at NBC's Revolution and week 2 of my blog tour

Today starts off the second and last week of my blog tour. I will be at Matthew's blog called the Quintessentially Questionable Query Experiment or QQQE for short. It's a great place to hang out and meet fellow bloggers and work on query letters.

NBC has a series that is coming up in the fall that has piqued my interest. Called Revolution, it definitely has a creepy sci-fi, dystopian, apocalyptic aspect to it.
From J.J. Abrams and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, Revolution is a high-concept drama that asks one harrowing question: What would happen if all forms of technology just stopped working? The show centers on Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos), a young woman who is on a mission to find her uncle (played by Twilight actor Billy Burke) after the local militia kills her father and kidnaps her brother.

Anyway, it's got me excited. Please follow me over to the QQQE if you have the time and have a great Monday.

Tuesday Diablo 3 is released. I ordered mine from Amazon. I can't wait to play it later this week with some friends from WoW. Squee.

  2. Never heard of it but then the only time I turn on NBC is for hockey.

  3. Hadn't heard of that show at all, but it looks good. Kind of what I imagine happened a couple of hundred years before my novel takes place. I'll have to watch for "research" purposes. :)

  5. I'm always up for checking out anything by JJ Abrams. It does look good...and creepy.

    Great guest post over at QQQE!

  6. Aww! I'm so sorry that i missed the first week of your blog tour! Even though i totally reminded myself about it before i went on vacay.
    I'll definitely make it up this week.
    And i've never heard of this show, but it sounds awesome! I'm going to need some new shows, too, with Fringe, House and *ahem* Make It or Break It all ending. *sniff*

  7. Oh, SNAP! I haven't seen the commercials for Revolution. Definitely up my alley. We don't get ABC without cable, but we are switching from Netflix to HuluPlus so I'll get to watch! Yay!

  8. I went to your guest blog first. You are certainly getting around!

  9. Oh, wow, thanks for the heads up on Revolution. That does look like a great show! I'll have to check it out. Heading over to Matt's now...

  14. Looks awesome. Reminds me a bit of Jericho with the sudden loss of central government intertwined with a conspiracy. The loss of technology adds a nice twist and it looks like they've got a pretty good budget too. The fact that Giancarlo Esposito is in it is just icing on the cake. His portrayal of Gus on Breaking Bad was the scariest thing I've seen on TV in a long time.

    I will definitely be watching it.

  15. I'll be curious to see how they define "technology."

  16. I haven't heard of this before! I swear, I live in a bubble.

    I'm heading over to QQQE now. :)

  17. Anything by J.J. Abrams is worth checking out, and I really like the anti-technology premise.

  18. My only concern is JJ Abrams and his inability to do endings. Six series and a ridiculous climax is not something I want to go through again.

  19. Already caught up with you at Matt's. Did I mention how much I like and want that spider? Probably.

    Revolution looks cool, but alas I have no TV.

  20. @Ciara: Thank you.

    @Brinda: He is the modern Spielberg, is he not?

    @P.T.: I watch Harry's Law too. Hockey is awesome though. But you don't devote as much time as I do to watching television.

    @L.G.: I'm sure it won't bore you. It looks good, and the bows and arrows add a Hunger Games element of coolness to it.

    @Clarissa: I agree. But I want summer to last. I don't want to rush the fall.

    @Jay: I agree sir.

    @Sarah: Well I appreciate the support anyway :)

    @Charity: I agree. Revolution is up your alley.

    @Libby: Thanks. I'm trying :)

    @Matthew: I agree sir. How can we go wrong with the director of Iron Man collaborating with J.J. Abrams?

    @Lyn: Thank you.

    @Cindy: You say that with such enthusiasm.

    @Dezmond: I can never one up the Hollywood Spy.

    @Diamond: Thank you

    @Kevin: I thought it reminded me of Jeremiah in some aspects. I too am a fan of Giancarlo Esposito.

    @Andrew: Yeah...I was wondering if all electricity fails, what about the electrical impulses that drive your brain?

    @Alyson: I agree.

    @Emily: Yeah. I have my hand on the touchstone of all that is cool.

    @Helena: I agree. J.J. Abrams is da man.

    @Moody: What!? Fringe is okay. So was Super 8!

    @farawayeyes: Oh cool. I hope you win won so i can mail it to you.

  23. Good luck on your tour and with your book! Diablo 3 is going to be keeping a lot of people busy it seems :)

  24. Looks really interesting...May lose a few friends to Diablo 3 for an indefinite amount of time :)

  25. This looks like a great show - I'm always wary of newbies on the tube, but Billy Burke's a great actor, and c'mon, who doesn't want to watch Bella's dad in a dystopian world?

  26. This actually looks really good. If it does well in the US, then Fr may pick it up for next year. /:

  27. Whoah... looks cool. And not just because the girl's name is Charlie (har har har). Or that the guy who plays the uncle was Charlie in the Twilight movies. Man, Charlie is just a GREAT name.

    You're guest blogging all over the place! Way to be.

  28. Also, you need to enable embedded comments! As to your question on my blog, the Faire was in Ogden :)

  29. Would you believe that the premise behind that movie was one of my more recent book ideas?? I knew I'd never be able to pull something like that off though so I'm looking forward to seeing how they've done it. :-)

  30. Oh wow... I really want to watch revolution.. this looks good.... wonder when it will come out in Australia?

  31. I hadn't heard anything about Revolution. It looks and sounds intriguing. I'm looking forward to playing Diablo. My hubby is bringing it home with him tonight. Yay!

  32. Seems I have missed some interesting posts. I have to get back to the story, start from the fourth piece I think.
    The trailer was awesome, but most of the world that doesn't fall into the developed nation category would be relatively unaffected. Indians would miss their mobiles, TV dramas and loss of electricity will be the greatest sorrow, and I pods and Ipads by people like me but that's just 30% of the popn, same in Latin America and Africa.
    The economies will collapse, nations will become become poor overnight especially people whose jobs revolve around technology...the greatest and immediate risk will be radiation leak from nuclear plants, missiles being activated, orbiting satellites crashing but the geniuses will find a way...we will be set back by 200 years if we manage to stay alive, but I doubt we will go back to the bow and arrow world of Robinhood, maybe 18th century candle light world for a time.
