For the first time in 240 years a woman has been nominated by a major political party for President of the United States.

Yay! This Democrat is pretty happy that for the first time in 240 years, the United States has nominated a woman to a major political party for President. I'm just going to savor this moment. It's been a long time coming. I'm so proud to see this happening within my lifetime. Whether or not she wins against Donald Trump in the fall is not the point. A glass ceiling has been shattered for all time, and I was there to see it break.

  2. It's a great moment whether one likes Hillary or not. Gotta agree with Alex.

  3. It's good but it'd be better if it weren't someone so corrupt and plagued by scandals. One candidate will probably be indicted before the election and the other is being sued.

    1. Hillary's not going to be indicted. That's right wing stuff you're just repeating, and it's intended to smear her. Emails...that's what they got on her...emails. If she were a man, they'd be patting that man on the back saying, "A rules breaker shows he's a leader!"

    2. She wasn't even breaking any rules with that; it was accepted practice. That's why no one said anything. They all knew and were fine with it. As for scandals, they're pretty much all manufactured. The Republicans have been scared of her for years and have been trying to sabotage her all this time and, yet, the email thing is the best they've been able to come up with. It's utterly ridiculous that she's portrayed as untrustworthy. Factcheck.org has her, by far, as the most honest of the bunch.
Yes, you can take all that to mean that I'm voting for Clinton.
And the only way she won't win in the fall is if Sanders sabotages it, which it looks like he's hellbent on doing, the country be damned and all that.

    3. I don't think she did anything wrong either but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they indict her around the convention.

  4. In order for Hillary to be indicted, it would need to be proved she knowingly passed along classified information to someone without clearance, like Petraeus did. Not even Republicans have accused her of this. And if they charge her with a crime, they must also go after Madeline Albright and Colin Powell. This is truly an historic occasion.

  5. Now we just need to get the rest of the country on board and not vote in that scary reality TV star that a bunch of people seem to think is actually a good idea. *shudders*

  6. Hear!Hear! But I won't believe it until she's in the Oval Office. She's gutsy, she tolerated a philandering husband (that I don't admire), and I would like to see what can be done by a woman as President, hampered by the majority of males she will be working with. (Isn't there only minimal female representation in the Senate and the House?) She beats the alternative IMO.

  7. It was getting to the point where I didn't think a woman would get nominated in my lifetime, let alone win and be president. It's about damn time! Here's hoping she wins and that the vulgarian idiot bigot she's running against loses. Otherwise we're all doomed.

  8. Amen!! I was so touched and excited when this happened. It honestly affected me more than I expected it to. I got a little choked up. You go, Hillary!
