Diablo III - Blackstone Cinematic!

As Deckard Cain's niece, Leah, struggles to make sense of her uncle's mysterious and disturbing notations, she bears witness to a dark vision. Azmodan, Lord of Sin, towers over the fragile young woman, swearing his armies of the burning Hells shall pour forth into Sanctuary, ravishing the world and all hope of resistance.

This cinematic game footage offers but a glimpse into the gritty, evolving story of Diablo II. Please take the time to watch it. The trailer is thrilling.
I sampled some of this game when I attended Blizzcon 2009 (Yes, I am that much of a geek but in my defense...some of my guildies attended too--I was really into World of Warcraft).  The character class  that I played in the few minutes that I was allowed to sit at the computer was the Monk, and man...I could lay waste to hundreds of demons in just a short time span.

All I can say is three words... "COMBAT. MAGIC ITEMS." Is there really anything else a person could want? I'm so excited for this game that when it gets released, you may not hear from me for a week unless you log onto Battlenet and play with me. Maybe I'll do a Diablo III give-a-way so one person who comments can join me in purging the world of the newest Prime Evil!

Diablo was groundbreaking when it was released.  I played Diablo II for months--again--because it was groundbreaking.

I expect Blizzard will once again snatch the coveted "Game of the Year".

Matthew MacNish...Steph Schmidt...I'm calling you two out! I know you play video games. Don't make me face the demon hordes without you.

Happy Monday... /demon giggle

  2. Blizzard's video department is getting better and I didn't think that was possible. Those graphics are almost Avatar quality which is amazing for a trailer. I will definitely play Diablo though I wasn't a big fan of the second game for some reason. Perhaps I will see you in game.

In other news, WoW has jumped the panda.

  3. Cool trailer. I LOVE gaming. I'm afraid I haven't had much time lately to do any gaming. :(

  4. Hah! Thanks for the shout, Mike. My only problem with games this awesome is that I simply don't have time. I'm already going to be losing months of my life in Skyrim, so I worry that with the online/multiplayer options, I would lose years in Diablo.

  5. My other half and my daughter are waiting impatiently for Diablo III. I'm an ex WoW player but I came very close to going back with the annual sign up offer for the free Diablo. Luckily I stopped myself :-)

  6. Uck, games like that waste far too much time that I could be spending on other important stuff like watching TV.

  7. I have been waiting for Diablo III forever!!!!!

  8. Sounds awesome. Problem is, pretty much like everyone else, once I get into a game like this I'm useless to do anything else!

  9. I miss Diablo II. My new computer won't run it :_: I had the BEST BEST Amazon ever. And a Barbarian named Barbie (really bad joke with my Dad).

Blizzard is evil. They release this kind of eye candy without a date. It's been two years of teasers. My patience is growing thin.

  10. I'm with Rogue. I used to like video games but they've fallen on my list of things to do as my free time more and more is occupied. Sounds like you'll like it, but otherwise it's mystifying to me.

  11. What a gorgeous trailer. I watched and thought about the evolution of the graphics in video games. Wow.

  12. Mike, I'd forgotten we had the chance to play Diablo at Blizzcon. Was that D3? Sheesh, they have been promoting this game for a long time. It better be great!

@N.Scott...Jabba is exactly what I called the big, ugly monster when I saw it.

@Rogue Mutt...I play games WHILE watching (HG)TV. There is no trade off.

  13. I mostly don't play video games anymore (unless you count farmville, which I don't). I used to play EQ2 and, before that, SWG, but I really just squeeze in enough time to make those things enjoyable rather than frustrating. I have Dragon Age, which was great, but I had to re-format my computer a while back and have never put it back on again.

What I really want to play is the new Star Wars MMO, but, at this point, I'm pretty sure my computer is too old to run it, which is probably a good thing.

  14. I'm always so impressed with video game trailers. (And they give me the cutest hair style ideas. ;)) Oh how I long for the gene that would allow me to not completely suck at video games. :(

  15. I am so out of touch when it comes to the gaming world. Those trailers are awesome though. Apparently I need to broaden my horizon and get back into video games.

  19. I played for a while with my kids. II was a pretty cool game, still is.

Is it just me, or does that Azmodan guy remind you of the clown-faced guy from Spawn? Anyway, looks killer, but I just don't have time for games anymore.
