So, when original you dies, that soul is gone. New clone (I believe) would then have a different soul. Unless the soul would transfer with the transport. Something to consider.

If someone was dying, and then clones were in play, there would be all sorts of religious objections...Liz A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16531953467834426316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-31024107534373965232021-06-16T07:50:52.700-06:002021-06-16T07:50:52.700-06:00But really isn't how the transporter works is ...But really isn't how the transporter works is that you're scanned and all the biological information is digitized into the pattern that goes into the buffer and then that information is sent to whatever location and reassembled and un-digitized into its original form?

So it isn't really "killing" the original so much as transforming that biological information into digital information and then transforming it back somewhere else.PT Dillowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394481476862013009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-23702256034544240522021-06-16T05:20:36.014-06:002021-06-16T05:20:36.014-06:00It was pretty nasty in the first movie when someon...It was pretty nasty in the first movie when someone got turned into a puddle by a defective transporter.PT Dillowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394481476862013009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-88856808829564153462021-06-16T03:50:58.669-06:002021-06-16T03:50:58.669-06:00In that context, it is horrifying.
