A friend told me about the small publisher she worked for was looking for a proofreader. I spoke to the senior editor, did an editing test, and got the job. I proofread a manuscript or two before they had me editing/critiquing manuscripts. Eventually, I decided to go at it alone.Cherie Reichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16663147386014122939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-37271684491388146822012-07-31T22:35:41.689-06:002012-07-31T22:35:41.689-06:00Nice interview! Fortunately, I'm pretty good with grammar, punctuation, and other stuff, but even then all kinds of little problems (or bigger plot ones) can slip by me. Like Cherie advises, I run my manuscripts by several people, and they all get back to me about changes and corrections. And I've just discovered that a more casual friend is a super anal (I mean that in a good way) proofreader. So from now on she'll be reading the final copies of my manuscripts.Helenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14967821142796562697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-29345800876231194052012-07-31T14:03:50.485-06:002012-07-31T14:03:50.485-06:00excellent interview! thanks, cherie, for the editi...excellent interview! thanks, cherie, for the editing tips!Tara Tylerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07587802105993889515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-21345736850905131812012-07-31T13:55:23.455-06:002012-07-31T13:55:23.455-06:00Awesome interview!
