I'm definitely seeing Dunkirk, and I both look forward to the experience (it's already being hailed as one of the best war films ever made) and dread it -- all those young lives lost. I'm always moved by the reminder that civilians in hundreds of private boats aided in the rescue. The fact that no character became a focus, this horrific portrayal of bravery and courage became the story, the history. My only issue was his insistence of practical effects which meant the beaches 'only' had a couple thousand on screen when it should have had tens of thousands. It would have been easy to digitally duplicate in extras but you have to give Nolan props for sticking to his vision.

I agree that Zimmer's music was perfect. It mimicked a Stuka dive bomber the way it built tension. The picture as a whole feels like a passion project that is only possible for a director who has made boatloads of money for a studio and Nolan executed it masterfully.Kevin Longhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01092721842140433268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-70206599131772639382017-07-31T08:34:22.345-06:002017-07-31T08:34:22.345-06:00I loved it, but was disappointed they didn't m...I loved it, but was disappointed they didn't make more of a show of the seven hundred boats that came to the rescue.stephen Hayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659054447637207734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-85693438606038637932017-07-31T04:33:39.336-06:002017-07-31T04:33:39.336-06:00Sounds good.Sounds good.PT Dillowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394481476862013009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-45171232369981495562017-07-31T03:41:44.061-06:002017-07-31T03:41:44.061-06:00And I couldn't agree more! And Hans Zimmer just adds to that. His scores are so epic, and because scores help enhance the mood, you know you're in for an emotional rollercoaster when he's involveed...lol DRChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03352970077497112668noreply@blogger.com
