Therefore, "doing the right thing" is really "what is the best for -me-." And republicans reinforce this idea -all- the fucking time with their talk about freeloading immigrants and people of color. It promotes the idea that white people are special and can, indeed, do whatever the fuck they want and that that is doing what is right.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495499100279472520.post-45253519532216611092022-07-11T16:03:19.629-06:002022-07-11T16:03:19.629-06:00Was it Mother Teresa? There's this thing that ...Was it Mother Teresa? There's this thing that went around a while back that I think was attributed to her. Let me see if I can remember how it goes...
If you are kind,
people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway. I suppose with Trump and all the reality TV, we see too many assholes getting rich for being assholes, so why should we be good? Yesterday I was in a pavilion at the local park and some kids come in. One starts screaming and another one tells him to quiet down because there's someone else there and the other kid screams, "I don't have to, it's a public park! I can do whatever I want!" Which is not true, but I suppose that is the prevailing attitude these days.

Another example is the other day Bette Midler Tweeted something trying to get women to band together...and then was attacked for being transphobic and a TERF. A call for unity leads to more disharmony. Yup, that's 2022.

Anyway, the latest Omicron variants are on the way and exactly no one is doing anything about it. These are even more contagious, even in outdoor settings, so we are well and truly f**ked.PT Dillowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394481476862013009noreply@blogger.com
