Struggling with insecurity is something we all have to do

I think this is at the root of why I dislike Facebook and why I dislike "humble bragging" so much.

This is my post for the Insecure Writer's Support Group. Please go here to learn more.

  2. I like that quote about the highlight reel. Good thing to keep in mind.

  3. Yes, we all have them for sure, but it's how we deal with them that's the key.

Facebook scares me, but I face that fear head on. I just don't post a lot. Lol

  5. You know, that quote goes perfect with my topic today. Stars must have been alighted on this month's post for us. :)

  6. I hadn't thought of it like that but it makes sense. That's why I like bloggers who are "warts and all" about their more troublesome times as well as successes. We can commiserate!

  8. You know, it is so hard not to compare ourselves to the people we are trying to emulate. It’s tough to remind ourselves that the grass is not always greener and we have no idea what battles a person is facing in the backdrop. Thank you for sharing this insightful post.

  9. I know the feeling that you're a mess and everyone else is well-adjusted. Of course, I've also thought the opposite sometimes.

  10. When you pretend everyone else doesn't exist, it helps a lot.

  11. I think most of our problems and insecurities come from the fact that we don't love ourselves enough. Most people sabotage themselves by being their own worst enemy.

  12. I love that quote. It's a good reminder.

  13. I was brought up not to brag, so it amazes me what some will say on Facebook and it's not humble by any means.

  14. I like what Cindy said above. I'm also of the generation that was raised with the belief that bragging is a sign of bad breeding. But these days I here shameless self-glorification everywhere.

  15. Yeah, I can't handle it anymore, honestly, so I've stopped visiting FB for the past few days and it has been wonderful and I'm not sure when I'll return.
