Monsters Inc and the important questions of life

For those days when you are on a diet, and see a hamburger...
And for those days when you think Tentalus...
Just might be the result if Celia and
Thaladius Bile from Monsters, Inc. had a baby...
Then, my writer friends, you are ready for the ultimate truth.  Why something is "cool" depends exclusively on how well it is marketed.
Have a great day!

  3. How very right you are. Sometimes I marvel at how victim so many of us fall to clever marketing. It's a bit revolting.

  4. Monsters, Inc is one of my favorite cartoons. I hope they never ruin it with a sequel.

  5. I think we're coming to the point where the marketing is driving the movie. I think this started with Jurassic Park, where the products were actually featured in the film.

  8. Well put. How about we do away entirely with commercials, since TV shows are full of product placements anyhow?

  9. Sure. As my marketing teacher in college said, people can't buy something if they don't know it exists. Unfortunately most of what gets marketing the most is crap.

  10. You've sold me!

I do love Monsters, Inc. Fortunately my son was a little boy when that came out and we got to watch it over and over and over...

  14. You're right. Even terribly goods can seem really cool if they're marketed just right.

  15. My daughter would love that last pair.
And I'd wear that pair of Mike's if the eye was on the top of the toe area. That would be cool!

  17. Too bad most of us have a very small marketing budget if we have one at all.
